Last chance to choose your frontline heros

So what makes a Council Worker of the Year? Dedication; going the extra mile; length of service; saving money; bravery; teamwork; serving the community? Frontline workers across the country do this day in day out, often with little recognition outside their teams. This year our finalists cover the whole range of council work - electrician, mental health worker, chief exec, crematorium manager, hate crime worker, culture team leader, children's centre coordinator, community warden, community safety worker, emergency response teams, gas team, gardening team, highways manager, energy management manager, green living officer, fire-fighter, social workers, teacher, youth worker, street cleaner, helpline supervisor.

Give them your support - have a look at their work and vote now! Winners will be announced at the Gala Dinner on Thursday 8th July 2010.
